Speed Up Your Progress

This is a fundamental step we tend to skip that cuts ourselves off from further growth in our business.

It’s so simple that it’s easy to overlook, but there’s a big price to pay when you don’t do this one small thing.

Acknowledge your progress.

Huh? What does that have to do with anything?

From my experience, it’s got everything to do with it!

In fact, it’s amazing what opens up for you when you take time each day to look at the things you have accomplished and to recognize that you’re further along today than you were yesterday. Suddenly everything just looks more clear, sharp, and vibrant and you even begin to feel lighter.

Prior to this realization, I was stalling out in the middle of planning a launch in my business. I’d done this same launch before, but for some reason feelings of overwhelm and confusion kept surfacing and no matter what I did, I just could not move ahead.

So I did what I always do. I dropped what I was doing, pulled out my journal and began writing out my thoughts, and then it occurred to me:

I was so focused on what was next and how I could do it better, that I neglected something very important. I had not acknowledged how far I’ve come. I jumped from one launch into the next and did not stop to celebrate, so the positive momentum that I’d built up quickly came to a stand still, and my dominant focus shifted onto how I was coming up short.

The problem with focusing on your short comings is that you stay in a lack mindset; and since we create with our thoughts and emotions, we end up creating scarcity.

How does this show up?

• As a lack of clients, sales calls, comments and shares on your social media posts, low click rates and open rates for your emails,
• A lack of readers of your blog, sign-ups for your lead magnets and offers,
• A lack of attendees to your webinars and seats filled in your programs,

And the list goes on.

When you don’t truly acknowledge your growth, you’re simultaneously stunting it. It’s like you’re saying to the Universe that you don’t appreciate all the support, resources, money, people, teachers, etc. that have shown up for you already. You’re discounting all of it and as a result, you slow your growth.

Continuing to dismiss your progress also caps your success and keeps you functioning in overwhelm, confusion, and doubt. In a sense, it forces you to still see yourself as that earlier version of you when you didn’t know as much, and didn’t feel ready enough.

What happens is that your perception of yourself and your reality stays stuck in the past, even though you’ve gained so much experience since. This experience and progress needs to be acknowledged, felt, and embodied.

So how can you speed up your progress? How do you get more of the things you want?

Appreciate how far you’ve come and how much you’ve been supported, and be grateful for all the times things did work out in your favor. When you feel appreciation for your wins and successes, you open yourself up to receive more to be appreciative for. Gratitude carries you to your goals and beyond!

So feel appreciation for your wins and successes and you will receive more. Make it a daily practice, a habit, to look back on your day and acknowledge all you did accomplish. The more you do this the better you will feel and the more progress you will make!
